The site has now been updated to include a page for theREIGN’s brand new, live album, 96, which is due for release on Saturday 10 September 2011. The CD and downloadable songs will become available in the TFKM online store from midnight on the 10th.

’96′ Launch Concert

If you have visited theREIGN’s site recently, you will have seen the announcement of the release of their live album “96” on Saturday 10 September 2011, with a concert at St Barnabas Church in Swanland.

Recorded live at Withernsea United Reformed Church in October of last year, the album includes 13 audio tracks and some fantastic bonus material, including two further tracks, recorded live at the 2010 East Hull Easter Praise event at St Aidan’s Church, as mp3 files.

The album will be available at the concert, and also online (as a CD and partial download) via the TFKM Store. Sadly, licensing restrictions mean that we can only make the songs we didn’t write available in physical format (i.e. CD in this case) and not downloadable. That means that 9 of the audio tracks will be available electronically.

The launch concert begins at 6:30pm, entry is free, and it will provide an opportunity to say a final farewell to Paul and Kev as they leave the lineup once and for all, as well as a rousing hello to Rob and Simon as they fully take over the guitaring and drumming duties. There will also be a very special finale featuring the massed bands of theREIGN!

I really hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us on September 10th to celebrate the launch of the band’s third (and first live) album.

Mega-Update for theREIGN

The first part of a three part news update has been posted to theREIGN’s website this morning. Parts 2 and 3 will be posted over the next few days and will hopefully bring everyone right up to date with everything going on in the life of the band.

New Ways to keep up with theREIGN

In a bold bid to enter the 21st Century, theREIGN have now created a presence on Facebook and Twitter, as well as giving their MySpace presence a long overdue update.

Given how poor I am at keeping this site bang up to date, it will be interesting to see how well I manage to keep on top of Facebook, MySpace and Twitter as well but time will tell.

Go have a look, become a fan or follower, and let’s see what sweet music we can make to further God’s Kingdom.

More Rock Eucharists!

The Communion on the Rocks continues to monopolise theREIGN’s diary for 2009, with some additional events being added both within their current “tour” and beyond.

The “tour” addition has been slotted in on Sunday evening 1 March 2009 and will be held at Victoria Dock Church in Hull. This is a local church with which the band have a close and productive relationship, and we are delighted to be invited back to lead “Rising Sun” again, having held the original live rehearsal there back in August 2008.

Further afield, and following another successful and blessed weekend with our friends in Barrow Upon Humber over the weekend of 7 and 8 February 2009, we have been invited back for a further concert/Rock Eucharist combo (the not-yet-written v3) over the weekend of 14 and 15 November 2009. This is looking good at the moment, but we just need to tie down everyone’s availability in order to confirm.

Finally, and most importantly for theREIGN at this point, we have now set a date for a Communion on the Rocks showcase event, to be held at St Aidan’s church in East Hull on Thursday evening 7 May 2009, beginning at 7:30pm. This event is designed for us to showcase/lead the Rock Eucharist event for a congregation of invited local ministers and youth leaders with a view to expanding the event’s ministry within local churches. Please pray for the organisation, promotion and execution of this event.

New Video Added

If you head on over to the Video Clips page, you will find a brand new live video available for viewing (via theREIGN’s brand new YouTube Channel) and for download.

This video is the first recording of a full live song performance that we have made available, but we very much hope there will be more to come in the near future. It features the opening song of the band’s well received concert at Holy Trinity Church in Barrow on Humber in July 2008, Jesus The King.

We hope you enjoy this little present, and would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry and blessed Christmas, as well as a Happy New Year. There are some exciting things coming from the band in 2009, and we will keep you posted on all the developments right here, as well as at theREIGN’s official website.

theREIGN’s website has undergone a comprehensive redesign, combined with a move onto the WordPress platform. All of the content has moved seamlessly across from the previous version of the site, and it now integrates the news/blog function in with the main body of the site (as you would expect).

Further updates and enhancements are expected over the next few months, so stay tuned for developments. You can also now join the band’s e-mail newsletter using a simple system, to stay even better informed about what is going on with Hull’s Premier Praise & Worship Band.

Greenbelt Timeshift

theREIGN’s Rock Eucharist event at Greenbelt 2008 has been brought forward from 11:30pm to 10:00pm on Friday 22 August (the first night of the festival). If you are at the festival, we really hope you can join the band as they celebrate version 2 of their Communion On The Rocks event.

Rock Eucharist Event

As part of theREIGN’s preparations for Greenbelt 2008, we are pleased to announce a public runthrough of Communion On The Rocks version 2 on Saturday 3 August 2008, starting at 1930.

This is a rehearsal, rather than a polished show, and an opportunity for the band to assess what works, what doesn’t, and make any final tweaks required before taking it to the festival. Entry will be completely and utterly free.

If you are in the area, we would love you to join us for what should be an exciting and fun-packed evening. And, best of all, you get to tell us what you liked and what you didn’t and offer some suggestions for improvements where necessary.

If you can’t make it, we would value your prayers as we pull this together.
